Beste Elveren is a doctoral student at Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH), Bioengineering Department. She received her BSc degree in Chemistry in 2016 from IZTECH. Her graduation project was “Simultaneous Determination of Triclosan and Triclocarban in Waters by Cerium Oxide Fibers using Solid Phase Micro Extraction (SPME) and High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)”.
She finished her MSc degree in Biotechnology in 2018, also from IZTECH. Her masters thesis was named as “Green Synthesis of Metal Nanoparticles and Their Application as Plasmonic Substrates”. In the scope of her thesis, green synthesized gold nanoparticles were used as plasmonic sensors for cyanide detection. Also, characterization of gold nanoparticles were a major part of the thesis.
Her current research focus is microfluidic green synthesis of gold nanoparticles for biomedical diagnostics and biosensors.
